“By agreement with one of your employees, I arrived in the late afternoon of 11 June 2011 to present my BMW 745 i, which I was intending to use as the consideration in part-exchange purchase of another car from you. I will honestly stress that I had visited two other used car dealers before, but their attitude to the customer was radically different, sometimes even tasteless. As an elderly man with a certain amount of experience with how customers are treated in different places, I owe you my thanks honestly and deservedly. My thanks go to the gentleman in the customer care centre who dealt with me very earnestly on the telephone and called me repeatedly to check if someone was taking care of me; thank you for that. Besides, I have been very pleased and in fact surprised by the conduct and attitude of Mr. Opatrný, who did the inspection of my car. In addition, let me thank Mr. Kuš, who had shown me the cars potentially suitable for the part exchange. I am sending this thank-you letter nonetheless, even though the transaction will not take place as I noted above. Decency and helpfulness are rare phenomena in business today.”
