SOVA Association's Campaign
Dear Customers,
From time to time, you may have come across paid advertisements by Sdružení na ochranu vlastníků automobilů – SOVA, o.s. (SOVA Association) on some Internet browsers, which have long blemished the good reputation of Auto ESA. The SOVA Association has been disseminating inaccurate and untrue articles reporting about the Globus Car crime case in an intentionally distorted way. The crime case is more than 2 years old now and was concluded by both the Czech Police and the courts early this year. Auto ESA had initiated the police investigation of the case, and Auto ESA was one of the injured parties in the case.
Since the very start of the affair, the SOVA Association has spread intentionally distorted articles about the issue, particularly on the Internet, and is why Auto ESA has decided to resolve the intentional harm of its good reputation legally. Since the SOVA Association has revoked many of its previous statements based on the lawsuit, and has also removed the harmful sponsored link from the Seznam.cz browser, Auto ESA took the decision to settle the case amicably and eventually revoked our grievance.
However, the continuing dissemination of untrue and misleading statements by the SOVA Association, which has withheld the fundamental fact that the case is more than 2 years old and already concluded in court, has led us to believe that it may be a manifestation of unfair competition and may even be party to dishonest business competition.
Besides the Globus Car case, the SOVA Association has made many other untrue statements in its information materials; in contrast, it has repeatedly withheld some fundamental facts. This concerns, among other things, the SOVA Association claims about odometers being run backwards. Auto ESA was the first used car dealer in the Czech Republic to start employing the Autotracer system, which significantly reduces the risk of repurchasing a car with rewound mileage, and the first to start cooperating with CEBIA, the supreme certification authority in the area. At the same time, it needs to be said that there is objectively no totally reliable method of knowing whether a car has had its mileage rewound. When repurchasing cars, Auto ESA proceeds by using the available means to take every preventive measure to discover cars with false mileage counts on their odometers.
We have long tried to continually improve our services, and like every good business, we have a single aim in that our customers are satisfied and that they return to us.
Yours, Auto ESA
